WHAT THE FEATURES ARE FOR

The process drags on, nobody is available overnight, and evaluations vary.

The features below address those three problems. If you would rather start from your own bottleneck, see the solutions page.

  • The longer the process runs, the more candidates drop out along the way.
  • Nobody is available overnight, so people you could have met go elsewhere.
  • When the criteria are vague, results vary from one interviewer to the next.

CORE FEATURES

Screening, interviewing and evaluation can run end to end.

Each feature can be used on its own or together with the others.

  • 1. AI Screener
  • 2. AI Interviewer
  • 3. Scoring & Evaluation

1 AI Screener

CVs and career histories are scored against the criteria you set.

Write the criteria in your own words. Each criterion shows the evidence found in the CV and what information is missing.

  • Create a job posting for each role, then import CVs or pull candidates from your ATS
  • An overall score from 0 to 100, plus strength and confidence for each criterion
  • Evidence from the CV and missing information, shown for each criterion
  • Scoring is automated; the hiring decision stays with your team
AI Screener results by criterion: strength and confidence for each criterion, evidence from the CV, and missing information.

2 AI Interviewer

Interview flow

Set the questions and evaluation criteria for the role, then send the URL by email or put a QR code on your job page or a poster. Candidates take the interview whenever it suits them, and the AI generates an evaluation when it ends.

Briefing & interview

Preliminary evaluation & final decision

2 AI Interviewer — Company briefing

Let the AI brief candidates on your company before the interview.

The AI presents your existing company materials with voice narration and subtitles. When it ends, the interview starts on the same screen.

  • Use your existing PDF, PowerPoint or video files without reworking them
  • The AI drafts the script; your team reviews it before it goes live
  • Candidates can watch now and interview later, somewhere quiet
  • See in the dashboard who watched to the end
Screen where the AI presents a company briefing with voice and subtitles: a slide titled “Steps to starting work” from Sample Inc., a fictional company, with subtitles below

2 AI Interviewer — Avatars

The AI interviewer appears as an avatar of your choosing.

You can also use your company mascot as the avatar.

  • Anime-style characters
  • Use your own mascot
  • Voice and speed set per room
  • Two-way, real-time conversation
Two AI interview screens side by side: an anime-style female avatar on the left and an anime-style male avatar on the right, each in conversation with a candidate.

2 AI Interviewer — Recording & transcription

Every interview is transcribed in full.

You can go back and check what was actually said.

  • Full transcript of every interview
  • Interview video recording and playback
  • Summaries for quick review
  • Trace how the questions and answers unfolded
The recording and transcript screen: the AI questions and the candidate answers, each with a timestamp, beside the recorded video.

3 Scoring & Evaluation

Every score comes with its reasoning.

Each candidate is scored against the role, with a written explanation of how the score was reached.

  • Detailed evaluation results
  • AI and reviewer evaluations side by side, in a table and a radar chart
  • Qualitative evaluation comments and detailed reasoning
  • Customisable evaluation criteria, behavioural models and scoring methods per company
  • Competency definitions, rubrics and culture-fit assessment combined in one evaluation
The interview evaluation screen: an AI-written summary, a radar chart overlaying the AI and reviewer scores, and per-criterion scores with reasons.

3 Scoring & Evaluation — Dashboard

Progress is visible at a glance.

Your team can see how interview numbers change over time and how long interviews take on average.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI interview?

An AI interview is a hiring approach in which an AI conducts a conversational interview with a candidate and evaluates and scores the responses. Proomi’s AI Interviewer runs 24/7 and can evaluate multiple candidates in parallel, so candidates wait less and everyone is assessed against the same criteria.

What is the difference between AI Interviewer and AI Screener?

AI Screener automates document screening by analysing CVs and career histories, while AI Interviewer automates conversational first interviews. Both are designed so that final decisions are made by humans: the AI surfaces evaluation results, scores, and rationale to support, not replace, human judgement.

Which industries and company sizes is Proomi best suited to?

Proomi is best suited for organisations running large-scale hiring with high labour costs and high turnover, such as staffing and recruitment agencies, franchise operators, retail chains, service industries, and hospitality groups. It suits teams that receive plenty of applicants but lack the interviewers to see them. It also keeps questions and criteria the same across sites with many interviewers, and interviews can be held in Japanese or English.

How is Proomi different from other AI interview services?

AI interview services can be grouped by what each one optimises for: those that align evaluation across mass hiring with a shared framework, low-cost flat-rate services that let you interview every applicant, services that introduce candidates from their own talent pool, and services where the company’s own criteria are the asset. Proomi is the last type. You define both the questions and the criteria in your own words, and can check them against post-hire outcomes. Our article “AI interview services compared” sorts the leading services by type.

How long does an AI interview take?

Time per candidate varies with the number of configured questions and evaluation criteria, but it generally takes no longer than a typical first interview. Candidates can take the interview at a time that suits them, reducing scheduling overhead.

Can candidates watch the briefing now and take the interview later?

Yes. If they choose “Come back later” after the briefing, the same URL is sent to their email. When they open it again, they can skip the briefing and start the interview straight away, or watch the briefing again. Someone who scans the QR code on the move can take the interview once they are somewhere quiet.

How accurate is the evaluation?

Evaluation criteria are defined in advance, and the AI applies them consistently to every candidate. Differences between interviewers are reduced, and results are presented along with transcripts, scores, and rationale, making it easier for humans to make the final decision.

Can it integrate with our existing applicant tracking system (ATS)?

CSV/Excel-based integration with your existing applicant tracking system is supported. API integration is also supported; we will confirm the scope once we know your systems. We will gather integration requirements during onboarding and support a smooth go-live.

How is personal data handled?

Interview records are not used to train AI models. Retention can be set to fit your requirements, and before you start we explain how data is handled, including the countries and regions where it is stored and processed.

How long does it take to roll out?

You can start a trial right after reaching out. For full production rollout, customer-side setup typically takes a few weeks. We also provide implementation support, so please contact us for details.

What is your pricing structure?

There are three plans, sized by how many interviews you run in a year. Only interviews that candidates actually take are counted. The figures and what each plan includes are on the pricing page. The setup fee depends on the scope of onboarding support, so it is set out in a formal quote.

Can I try a demo?

Yes, you can try a demo interview and have a real conversation with our AI Interviewer. Just mention “demo request” on the contact form.

Will candidates accept an AI interview?

Asked whether they would be open to being interviewed by an AI instead of a human, 89% of respondents in their twenties said they would, along with 84% of those in their thirties and 63% of those in their forties (our own 2024 survey, 612 respondents; the headline figure appears in our press release of 24 December 2025). Respondents reacted well to evaluation that is objective and standardised, without bias or harassment. The older the respondents, though, the more they valued contact with a person, so we propose a mix of AI and human interviews to suit the roles you are hiring for. For what tends to frustrate candidates and how to improve the questions and the AI interviewer, see this article.

We’ll tailor a plan to your company size and hiring needs.
