Know where everyone stands, including the sites you cannot visit

Add sites and your coordinators still get round the same number of them. An AI interview takes the regular check-ins, and what it hears is kept as a record.

Challenge

Why people leave does not surface until they are leaving

The further away a site is, the fewer times a coordinator gets there, and staff who cannot step off the floor are hard to schedule. Even when you do meet, there are things people will not say where the client can hear them, and less still if they think it might affect the next assignment. So you hear about it once the decision has been made.

  • Sites are spread out, and coordinators cannot get round them all
  • Staff cannot step off the floor, so the meeting never gets scheduled
  • Things go unsaid, both at the client site and to the coordinator
  • What is said stays with whoever heard it, and never becomes a record

Solution

Have everyone’s situation in hand before you set off

The AI interviewer works at night and at weekends and runs any number of people at once, so staff can take it on a break at the client site or once they are home. The camera background can be blurred, and where speaking is awkward they can answer by typing, so the place is not a constraint. Set the questions once and every later interview runs on the same terms.

  • Taken from a link, whenever it suits them
  • Background blur, and typing instead of speaking where that is easier
  • What people will not say to a person still ends up in the record
  • Everyone’s situation sits in one place, so visits can be prioritised

Frequently asked questions

Does this replace the checks required of a dispatching employer?

No. What the AI interview does is ask about the situation and keep a record of it. The procedures required of you as the employer, and the channel for career-related consultations, stay with your own people. What changes is that the records are there for everyone, which makes it easier to decide where to visit first.

Does this work for SES and other quasi-mandate arrangements?

Yes. The contract is different from dispatch, though, so what the interview asks about changes with it. The AI interview itself works the same way: it asks the questions you set, and keeps the record. How far it goes is decided at setup, to fit the contract.

Will staff be candid with an AI?

In our 2024 survey of 612 people, 89% of those in their twenties, 84% in their thirties and 63% in their forties said they would consider an interview with an AI over one with a person. The reasons given were the absence of bias and harassment, and everyone being held to the same standard.

Where can they take it?

A browser is all they need. It works on desktop, smartphone and tablet, with no app to install. Turn on background blur and they can switch it on and off themselves, so nothing behind them shows, whether that is a break room at the client site or their own home. Where speaking is awkward they can answer by typing, and what the AI says appears as text as well, so the whole thing works with the sound off.

Can we choose how the AI interviewer looks?

You can turn on an avatar. The voice and the speaking pace are set per room, and one customer has brought in their own mascot character.

Can we try it at a few sites first?

Yes. The decision about who goes to an AI interview does have to be made earlier in the process, though.

Who can see the record?

By default, the coordinator. Beyond that, you can name who else can see it, person by person.

What is kept on record?

Every interview is recorded and transcribed. When a coordinator looks back at one, it sits alongside what was asked and answered in the admin console.

How much does it cost?

Pricing works differently here than for hiring interviews: it follows the number of staff covered and how often the interviews run. Tell us roughly the scale and we will put a quote together.
